Ten years ago I was:
We'll leave my age out of this but I was still in High School. A typical day was getting up for early morning seminary, school, after school sport practice in whatever season we were in, club soccer practice (except during soccer season at school), home to scarf down dinner, nearly fall asleep doing homework, getting 4-6 hours of sleep only to wake-up and do it all over again. Amazingly, I did have a social life but I made sure when I got to college to always get at least 8 hours of sleep. Too bad that didn't last long.

Things on my to-do list today:
Have fun with my sister while she's in town! Everything else can wait!

Things I would do if I became a billionaire:
One Billion dollars! (Think Dr.Evil.) Actually a billion dollars is a lot of money. It's becoming a millionaire a thousand times over. So, aside from the tithing and taxes, the first thing I'd do is buy a house! Then I'd buy a bigger car like a Honda Pilot Hybrid. Then I'd get a BMW 325i for Eddie and myself, a manual transmission of course. I'd travel to a few choice places like Maccu Piccu, Europe and South Africa (pretty much wherever, whenever). I'd use a couple million to invest in stuff like stocks and business ventures. Then I'd use another few million to create a halfway house type thing for foster kids who were wards of the court but are over 18 and on their own. I'd help them get an education or job training while giving them a place to live in the meantime. It sounds like a giant dorm but I'd have rules. They'd also be required to take classes to prepare them for real life stuff like how to cook, financial management, personal counseling and classes on relationship stuff to help them when they might start a family of their own, etc. It would be privately funded so I could hand pick promising kids that need help, from all over the country. Who knows, maybe it could grow to have more than one venue. I'd also want to start a community center similar to the Joan Kroc center but in an area that needs it. (Sorry Sabre Springs, not you.) I actually have quite a few philanthropic ideas but no money to make them happen.

Three bad habits:
1. I bite my nails, really bad. Now that I've told you, don't look at them. Even when I'm good about not biting my nails, I pick at my cuticles because they are always dry and I get bad hangnails. Yuck.
2. Procrastination. I don't think it's because I am lazy or even unorganized (which I am). But I honestly think it's because I need a little pressure or stress (the good kind) to thrive off of.
3. Not doing enough of the good stuff: praying, reading scriptures, service, exercise, etc. The list goes on and on. Don't get me wrong, I do these things, just not enough of them.

Five jobs I have had:
Movie Theater Employee (cashier, box office worker, ticket collector, and usher), Lifeguard, Nanny, Resident Property Manager, but most important: Mother.

Six things most people don't know about me:
1. When I was 8, I got hit by a car while I was riding my brand new bike. Luckily, I wasn't hurt but I did fly over my handle bars and land on the hood of the car. It was a head-on collision but down an alleyway so we were both going pretty slow. My rims got dented and I cried because my new bike was all banged up.
2. Again when I was about 8, my friend's younger brother shot me with a BB gun. He came out from around the corner with this gun that I thought was a toy and shot me! Punk kid. I walked home with blood dripping down my leg because it was close range. I still have a scar on my thigh.
3. I lettered in Speech when I was in High School. So I was nearing my senior year and realized I pretty much just played a lot of sports and participated in clubs that you had to play sports to be in. I thought I should do some things to make my college applications look more well-rounded. Enter school newspaper and forensics. I would have done the debate team but we didn't have one at my high school. The next best thing was Spar, which was one of the "events" in speech competitions. We only had three competitions but I got to the second place round in one of them so I lettered. Apparently my good arguing skills that I practiced on my parents paid off.
4. I have had my foot run over by a pick-up truck. I was getting my backpack from the bed of my friend's truck and she didn't realize I was already back there when she pulled forward thinking she'd move up for me. She ran over my foot but it didn't really hurt. It felt really hot but nothing was wrong with it. Thanks to the arches built into our feet like shock absorbers, not yet fully ossified bones (doesn't happen until age 25 for women), and my Sketchers boots, my foot wasn't crushed.
5. I cry when other people cry. It's like some weird response I have. Some might call it compassion or something but when someone else cries, even if they aren't sad, I cry. I also cry when I am overjoyed, get too angry, laugh too hard, or feel the Spirit very strongly. I read somewhere that people get teary when they are overfilled with some type of emotion. Since I don't cry when I'm sad or hurt I suppose God made me so that I'd cry under any other circumstance. I know He did it to humble me because I absolutely hate to cry.
6. Last but not least, my life plan once consisted of law school and my own apartment in New York City. Unfortunately it did not consist of marriage and family. However, I'm happy with the life I have now and wouldn't trade any part of it for anything.

I'm tagging anyone who hasn't been tagged yet!

So how is it that I am your aunt and didn't know any of this about you! Sounds like 8 was a big year for you. I love your "compassion" and am amazed that your foot survived a pick up truck. You should tell Jadon that - he might think you have super powers!

I totally forgot half of these stories! They made me and Tyson have a little chuckle. I hear you got cute stuff at Macys. We ended up not going. But I think that it was for the better, if you know what I mean. I will have to call you soon to know the details of your purchases. Love you!

It sounds like you have given the foster kid program a lot of thought. I totally agree that something like it is definitely needed!
